Jon Chattman once ate a Reuben sandwich with wrestling icon Randy “Macho Man” Savage, and invited Hall of Famer Gary Carter to his Bar Mitzvah but that barely scratches the surface of his many accomplishments. A noted author, pop culture enthusiast, event promoter and media expert, Chattman has been a regular contributor to the Huffington Post since 2008, and founder of the humorous celebrity interview and music site thecheappop.com. Over a 15-year span, Chattman has interviewed all walks of pop culture from TV icons and music stars to sports Hall of Famers to Oscar-winning actors and directors. His writings have appeared in the New York Post, Wizard, Ultimate Marvel Magazine, and TV Guide to name a few. In May 2009, he released “Sweet ‘Stache,” a humor book on notable celebrity mustaches with co-author Rich Tarantino. An avid baseball fan since the womb, Chattman lives in Westchester with his wife and a baby player to be named later.
Rich Tarantino is a noted author and sports enthusiast. He is the co-author of Sweet ‘Stache: 50 Bad Ass Mustaches and the Faces That Sport Them with Jon Chattman. Currently working on that book’s follow-up, Battle Royal in the Sky, a humorous homage to pro wrestling over the past 25 years, for Pitch Publishing. Tarantino is also an educator teaching within blocks from the House That Ruth Built. Tarantino lives in New York City with his wife Erica, and their son Jaxon and has been following baseball for over 30 years right around the time he started the Sid Monge Fan Appreciation Club in his parent’s backyard. Among his most cherished memories growing up were when he met Baltimore Oriole legend Ben McDonald in the visitor’s dugout of Yankee Stadium, and having no idea where he was when Dave Righetti pitched a no-hitter in 1984. Tarantino is a lifelong baseball fan that currently resides in the Bronx while his heart belongs on Yawkey Way with Red Sox Nation.
Allie Tarantino is an elementary school teacher who shares his love for writing, reading, and baseball with his students. He lives with his wife, Shira, and kids, Cyrus and Juniper, right in the middle of the Red Sox-Yankee rivalry in Connecticut. Details from his visits to two dozen major league stadiums can be found on his blog www.alliebaseballtour.com. His many trips include a visit to Olympic Stadium to see the Milwaukee Brewers play the Montreal Expos. He hopes to one day return baseball to Montreal so his website www.lastexpostanding.com can become obsolete. Allie’s hatred for the Yankees most likely started when he was snubbed by Lou Piniella at Yankee Stadium for an autograph. However the moment was saved when Hall of Famer Jim Rice interjected and signed his scorecard. Allie owns an extensive collection of Boston Red Sox and Milwaukee Brewers memorabilia, his favorite American and National League teams respectively. His baseball card collection includes rookie cards of Robin Yount, Kirby Puckett, and a signed Little League card by an eight-year old Mark Zuckerberg.
